On March 13th 2024, private aerospace company SPACE ONE aimed to perform the first private satellite launch from Japan. Launching from the company’s Space Port Kii, the Kii-based Advanced & Instant ROcket System (KAIROS) rocket carried a payload for the Japanese government, a satellite that would’ve acted as a temporary contingency incase of malfunctions aboard active intelligence satellites.
